For the second year, Siren Nation is producing "Lady Sings the Blues: A Tribute to Billie Holiday." We are proud to present an assortment of Portland's finest female musicians paying homage to Billie, each in her unique style.

In keeping with our mission to promote women in the arts it seems appropriate to offer tribute to Holiday as one of the leading inspirations for women musicians, a pioneer as both a Blaeir genre. Tahoe Jackson, of Black Angel, has graciously agreed to emcee for the evening, and we hope to hear her offer a few renditions as well. The line-up for the night is: Acoustic Minds, Reina G. Collins, Oracle with Keith Schreiner, Midnight Serenaders, Morgan Grace, Malcolm Rollick and Beth Willis.

Acoustic Minds
"Sweet soul driven harmonies over tight powerful songwriting. Acoustic Minds grabs you from the start and doesn't let go. Influences vary from deep blues to soulful rock. Live performances are a must see for this twin fronted group. You stand witness to the magic as it happens."

Reina G. Collins
"Reina's voice has been described as 'warm as the color of deeply polished wood' and 'smooth and fiery at the same time - like top shelf tequila.' She's an engaging and dynamic performer- imagine Tom Petty's Heartbreakers backing up the love child of Patti Smith & Chris Isaak."

Oracle
"Oracle is a Portland, OR based brother-sister duo fronted by the powerful and dynamic vocals of Orianna Herrman and the superb acoustic variations of Michael Hermann. Together they create acoustic soul rock original compositions. Oracle is an electro-acoustic blend of unabashedly fierce vocals underlined with exquisitely melodic guitar variations."

Midnight Serenaders
The Midnight Serenaders perform an infectious blend of old-time jazz and early swing, offering up a sweet collection of songs and tunes from the early 20th century. Fronted by guitar "

Morgan Grace
Named Best Emerging Artist of 2006 at American Idol Underground, Morgan Grace is an award winning songwriter and chameleon like performer delivering sets from stark tragic solo acoustic to swinging jazz trio cabaret to loud impassioned punk rock.

Malcolm Rollick
Honest is the best way to describe Rollick's music. She prefers improvising; spontaneity feels most genuine. "When I'm improvising," says Rollick, "I can say things I don't have the guts to say otherwise."

Beth Willis
A voice with vintage soul, an addiction to acoustic instruments, a rock edge, smoothed out by a touch of melancholy blues.
